You are right Martha. That is commonly referred to as "push polling" and many of the pollsters do this. There are a couple of real players that don't engage in this -- The Trafalgar Group and Rasmussen Reports. Both allow us into the "cross tabs" where all that information you mention is stored. As for the Substack notification, I'll leave that up to our Managing Editor to respond.

Most polls do not link to information about the poll itself or the composition of the group polled. As such, there are many of us who figure polls are meant to influence/nudge versus actually inform the electorate.

As information, I did not receive notification from Substack about either of your articles.
